Description:Working Hours: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) | 36 or 48 Hours Available Department: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Assignment Duration: 13-15 Weeks \n Position Summary:
\n The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering specialized care to complex post-operative and telemetry patients, including fresh post-op kidney transplant cases. This position requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to provide advanced monitoring and interventions in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates professional integrity, adaptability, and a patient-centered approach aligned with Cedars-Sinai's standards of excellence. \n Key Responsibilities:
\n • Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care to moderate-to-high acuity PCU patients. • Monitor and manage patients requiring invasive hemodynamic devices and frequent assessments (every 2 hours). • Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, including Milrinone, Dopamine, and Dobutamine. • Care for patients with TR Bands, chest tubes, and pulmonary hypertension therapy. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and coordinated patient transitions. • Complete thorough documentation and uphold HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. • Participate in patient and family education, ensuring clear communication and comfort during care. • Maintain unit cleanliness and follow safety protocols for infection prevention and equipment use. • Successfully complete the EKG competency exam on the first day of orientation (required to continue contract). \n Required Qualifications & Skills:
\n • Minimum 2 years of PCU experience (strongly preferred). • First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years of experience. • Proficient in telemetry interpretation, IV starts, and acute patient management. • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. • Ability to adapt quickly and perform in high-acuity settings. \n Required Certifications:
\n • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support • BLS - Basic Life Support \n Preferred Certifications:
\n • Deliver patient-focused, compassionate care with professionalism and empathy. • Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and judgment in monitoring and intervention. • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams. • Maintain accuracy in assessments, documentation, and compliance with standards. • Stay adaptable and proactive in fast-paced, critical care environments. \n Additional Information:
\n • Contract Duration: 13-15 Weeks • RTO Policy: No RTO within the first 2 weeks of the assignment. Must work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day). • Flu Vaccination: Required when flu season begins. • Unit Type: True PCU - managing complex, high-acuity patients. • Special Equipment: Swan-Ganz, Transvenous Pacer.

Rate: USD $120,000 to $130,000
Qualifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Active unencumbered Registered Nurse California state license
Graduate from a fully accredited Registered Nurse program
One year of work experience as Registered Nurse
One year of EMR experience
Board Certified
