Description: We are in search of Nurse Manager, Operating Room for a national For-Profit Hospital located in Carson /San Pedro CA Region.

Direct reports approximately 60. OR suite = 12. Bariatric Center of Excellence, a lot of ortho total joint procedures. No spine, heart, or neuro cases. Average cases = 50 daily average.

Is there additional variable compensation? There is the potential to earn an annual bonus, up to 15% of annual salary.

Job Summary:
\n
In addition to the responsibilities below, this position is also responsible for leading the implementation of best practice models; leading the implementation of patient care delivery systems and practice standards in several locations; delegating tasks related to the investigation and resolution of patient/family/member concerns regarding patient care and services; facilitating collaboration with physicians, outside healthcare providers, and other health care team members to achieve optimal and safe patient care across the continuum; proactively monitoring resource needs in several clinical areas to ensure appropriate assignment and utilization; managing the use and maintenance of equipment, supplies and medications; ensuring a safe environment for patients and employees; maintaining clinical expertise, providing clinical supervision, competency and licensing necessary to fulfill job responsibilities and to direct the provision of care in the unit; delegating tasks and duties that are aligned to scope of practice; and performing clinical duties as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
\n
Minimum five (5) years of experience in patient care delivery.
\n
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) AND minimum five (5) years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a directly related field.
\n
Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
\n
Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire
\n
Basic Life Support required at hire
\n

CA RN license by hire date.
\n
American Heart Association BLS.
\n
BSN or MSN.
\n

\n
Less Common Requirements
\n
CNOR. Experience with unions from a management standpoint.
\n

\n
At least 5 years of main Operating Room RN work experience. Should be current/recent. We will accept some surgery center experience; however, the majority needs to be in the main OR of an acute hospital.
\n
At least 4 years of RN leadership experience, which can consist of RN Manager, RN Supervisor, or Charge Nurse experience. Out of these 4 years, at least 2-3 years need to be in Manager or Supervisor RN position.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Active unencumbered Registered Nurse California state license
• Graduate from a fully accredited Registered Nurse program
• One year of work experience as Registered Nurse
• One year of EMR experience
• Board Certified
